About Me

Hello. My name is Chris and I live on the outskirts of Manchester with my very understanding wife! My love and passion for photography started many years ago after a trip to Tromso, Norway, with my daughter to fulfil a lifelong ambition to see the Aurora Borealis.  We were lucky enough to see the lights – twice, but only having a compact camera at the time I was unable to photograph them. This led me to buying my first DSLR and enrolling on a course studying photography.

A background in mechanical engineering, I believe, has given me a keen eye for detail and a desire to get things right. I am happiest camera in hand taking photographs and, as you will see from some of my work, I am very interested in Urban Decay; the way that society disregards and forgets about iconic buildings and places when we no longer have a need for them intrigues me no end, and I love to document these places before they are sometimes gone for ever. But I am a lover of architecture and landscapes as well.

I think I have a well-rounded feel for photography and can adapt to any challenge that comes along – I’m just as happy to do Product shoots as I am to shoot Urban Decay and Architecture. If you would like to discuss my services please call 07944 099871, email info@tbolt-photography.com or send me a message via the contact page… And, in case you were wondering, no I haven’t been back to Tromso with a decent camera and some decent knowledge yet, but it’s now on my To Do list once again!
